Sizing is the #1 reason Crocs get returned. The Classic’s roomy fit is great for toes but confusing when you’re between sizes. Here’s the simple version.

Key takeaways

  • Whole size: order your normal size.
  • Half size: most people go down (e.g. 9.5 → 9).
  • Wide, high-volume feet or thick socks: true size or one up.
  • Kids: leave some growing room, but not so much the heel lifts out.

How Crocs sizing works

  • Most adult Classic Clogs are unisex, labeled like M7/W9. The women’s size is the men’s size + 2.
  • Adult Classics come in whole sizes only.
  • Crocs labels fit types per style. The Classic is roomy, meaning extra space around the foot.
  • Kids’ sizes use C (toddler/little kid) and J (big kid) sizing.

General guidance. Always check the fit note on the specific product page.

How a good fit should feel

  • Your heel sits against the back of the footbed with the strap behind it, without hard pressure.
  • There’s a small gap in front of your toes. Your toes shouldn’t touch the front when you walk.
  • No pinching across the top of the foot. If it pinches, the size is too small or the style too narrow.
  • With the strap forward, your heel lifts a little. That’s normal for a roomy clog.

Got the size wrong?

If they’re too big, see Crocs too big: fixes. If you ordered wrong, see ordered the wrong Crocs size. Other styles fit differently: the LiteRide 360 feels less roomy (LiteRide 360 sizing), and platforms come in women’s sizes.

FAQ

Do Crocs run big?

The Classic has a roomy fit, so many people feel it runs slightly big. That’s why half sizes usually go down.

I’m a 9.5. Should I get a 9 or 10 in Crocs?

Most people with average-width feet choose the 9. With wide feet or thick socks, the 10 is usually more comfortable.

Should my toes touch the end of my Crocs?

No. Leave a small gap in front of your toes so they don’t hit the front when you walk.

Are Crocs unisex sizes?

Most Classic Clogs are unisex, shown as M/W. The women’s size is the men’s size plus 2, so M7 equals W9.

Do Crocs stretch over time?

Croslite doesn’t stretch much like leather does, but the footbed softens and compresses slightly with wear. Don’t count on them loosening.

Final verdict

Default: true to size, half sizes go down

The Classic’s roomy fit means most people never need to size up. The exceptions are wide feet, high insteps and thick winter socks.
